Aaliyah Dana Haaughton gained fame after releasing her first album Age Ain't Nothing But a Number in 1994. The singer was barely 15 at the time of her album's release. Gold. The collaboration was heavily inspired by R. Kelly, and helped put her in the spotlight. In 1996 Jermaine Durpri along with Timbaland worked together to create her sophomore album One In A Million. Aarti uses both Aarti Majumdar as well as Aarti Munn for her professional names. Although her early professional career was mostly dominated by small films and television parts, she gained recognition in the latter half of 2000s. Some of her most notable roles include Grey's Anatomy, Suits and Leverage. She's appeared in many commercials, including Volvo's global car manufacturer. She continues her acting career with her home in Los Angeles, where she lives with her daughter and husband.
