Winona-Ryder
Winona Ryder professional Winona Ryder, was born in Winona Minnesota. Her parents named her for the town she grew up in. The father of her Michel Horowitz and her mother Cynthia Palmer were authors and editors. Ryder's dad came from the Jewish family. Ryder considers her self Jewish. The actress is the sister to Uria who is half-sibling to Jubal & Sunyata. Ryder relocated with her family to Mendocino County California at the age of seven. The family were in a home that had no electric power. The books on television were Ryder's only distraction to keep her busy and she began to read extensively. Ryder aged 12 was enrolled in the American Conservatory Theatre for acting classes in 1983. She landed her debut role on the large screen in 1986 when she was 15 years old. Ryder faced bullying in high school. Ryder hoped her career as an actor would be able to be a positive change. Sadly that didn't happen. She continued to pursue her dream. Her biggest break was in 1988 when she appeared in Tim Burton's Beetlejuice. Ryder played successful roles for numerous films. In 1993, she was nominated twice at the Academy Awards. One of them for her role as a character in The Age of Innocence.
