April Ross

April Ross has won more than one Olympic medal. She is among a few female beach volleyball players to have achieved this feat. Alix Kallineman is set to compete alongside April Ross Tokyo in order to claim her third gold medal during the coming days. Ross wants to achieve more than her first Olympic medal. At 39, this could be her last chance to achieve it. But she's convinced that the top awards are at hand. If we perform at our very best and even perform very well, I think we'll win the gold medal Ross said via NBC Boston. And, I'm also going to play a bit of luck. Ross had her birth on August 22, 1982, on the outskirts of Costa Mesa California. She resided there with her family. Ross was a competitive athlete in a variety of athletics while she was at Newport Harbor High School. As a student-athlete she also played indoor volleyball and track. It was clear that she was cut above the rest in her other sport. Based on her biography, she was a middle blocker and an outside hitter on the volleyball court throughout her high school career. Thanks to her hard work she was awarded one of the 1998 Gatorade International Player of the year in Circle of Champions. The skills she showed in volleyball also earned her an Orange County Athlete of the Awards in 2000. Ross Klineman and Ross began their collaboration in the year 2017, however, Ross was a renowned athlete on the beach for a long time before. It's true that she has been an active player in the world of beach volleyball for many years. Indeed, Ross took home several titles, and even one with a famous volleyball player. She partnered up with Jennifer Kessy from 2007-2013, and also as Klineman and Kessy's coach. Alongside Kessy Ross was an ace in the international scene, winning one of the biggest titles in the world in 2009. In 2012, the duo were awarded silver medals at the London Olympic Games. Misty Maytreanor (Jennings) as well as Misty Maytreanor won gold, overtaking them. Ross Jennings became Walsh Jennings partner in fate when Maytreanor retired. The pair were awarded bronze medals at the Rio Olympics for beach volleyball. Ross was part of the Trojans from USC during high school after she finished her high school. The time she spent at USC was impressive. Her achievements included an All-American as well as Pac-10 freshman of the year in 2000. The team also saw her help in helping the Trojans advance to in the Final Four. Her sophomore season was the year she was devastated by a personal loss and still was successful in being named an All-American. In her last two years she led the Trojans up the mountain to win consecutive national titles. In her own way, she had established herself as a legendary player receiving in 2003 and 2004 the Honda Sports Award as the highest ranked female volleyball player. Ross studied International Relations at USC. Margie Ross did not see her daughter reach the top of the beach volleyball world. Ross lost her mother due to breast cancer back in the year 2001. Ross was then a sophomore. Ross is still awed by the memory of her parent. Margie is an inspiration at the beach and in all her lives.
