Jeanie Marie Buss has been an American entrepreneur for over twenty years. She is currently the president and owner-controller of the Los Angeles Lakers in the National Basketball Association. Buss was born in California and grew up as an heir to a prestigious family. Jerry Buss is her father. He was a real estate tycoon, and later the manager of Lakers and other enterprises. Her feelings of abandonment were heightened when her parents separated in 1972. At the age of 19, she was employed within the family's company. Later, she founded the Los Angeles Blades roller hockey professional team. She served as the director of the Great Western Forum before assuming the duties of the vice-president of the Lakers. Buss along with her five brothers and sisters and their father who owned the Lakers and controlled them until the time of his death in 2013, inherited this ownership through the trust. Each of them had the same vote rights. In 2013, she took charge for the Los Angeles Lakers. Buss also co-owns Women of Wrestling, a professional promotion of wrestling with its headquarter in Los Angeles.
